‘The Grey Funnel Line’ (2025), Sound-Sculpture
Voice (Elinor Arden), 6 Meter PVC Pipe, Switch, Mini Amp Board, Speaker Wires, 2 Directional Speakers, Bound Wire Hanging.
An interactive sound sculpture inspired by Cyril Tawney’s song of the same name. Voices emanate from each end, allowing the viewer to experience the song in harmony and manipulate the sculpture by spinning it, creating a continuously shifting soundscape that responds to the gallery space. The work forms part of an ongoing research project exploring the relationship between song and British imperial maritime power.
